Our Aims

Climate Action Network West Midlands: Connecting Communities.

CANWM grew out of the world's largest climate action in September 2014. Some of the people who met at climate events throughout the region kept in touch because we learned that we are stronger together, that most people now understand that the climate crisis is real and burning fossil fuels is the cause, that we must act now to create a fossil-free future to protect all we love.

Many positive things are happening, which deserve to be more widely known.

We want to build on that by supporting stronger links between groups and individuals.  CANWM is not another group but the connection between people who share similar aims and values, people who want to take action, from the personal to the political, from local to national to global.

This website aims to be a resource for all those individuals, groups, and organisations, participating in actions to mitigate the catastrophic effects of a human induced climate crisis. The website is a shared resource for public and climate activists in the West Midlands. It provides links to important aspects of human induced climate change, what can be done about it, and who is doing it.
